We’re heading for carbon zero

Over the last few years we have been upgrading our petrol powered tools for battery ones. Currently most of our chainsaws, hedge cutters and leaf blowers are now powered by electric batteries. This lowers our impact on the environment, reducing emissions, noise and impact on our workforce. As technology changes we aim to replace our wood chipper and larger chainsaws too,

Last of the seasoned logs for the week

Part of our daily work is recycling green arisings from our worksite, most small branches can be chipped and used on flowerbeds as a mulch, larger branches and logs are cut into small pieces and stacked to season for a year then split and bagged for firewood. We sell seasoned hardwood logs throughout autumn and winter as the jobs we do come full circle.

Ginkgo biloba, Maidenhair tree

Found some very distinctive yellow fan shaped leaves in a work jacket pocket today from a job we did back in November helping to install 26km of fairy lights in an avenue of Ginkgo trees in Bute park, Cardiff. An ancient tree with an amazing display of Golden yellow colour in Autumn and some unbelievably stinky fruit!
