We’re moving some shrubs today while the spring is still holding off, recycling some from one client whose garden is having a complete makeover to a new shared garden project who are welcoming some established plants. Still a few weeks to be planting and doing those big moves while things are still dormant.
Last of the seasoned logs for the week
Part of our daily work is recycling green arisings from our worksite, most small branches can be chipped and used on flowerbeds as a mulch, larger branches and logs are cut into small pieces and stacked to season for a year then split and bagged for firewood. We sell seasoned hardwood logs throughout autumn and winter as the jobs we do come full circle.
Ginkgo biloba, Maidenhair tree
Found some very distinctive yellow fan shaped leaves in a work jacket pocket today from a job we did back in November helping to install 26km of fairy lights in an avenue of Ginkgo trees in Bute park, Cardiff. An ancient tree with an amazing display of Golden yellow colour in Autumn and some unbelievably stinky fruit!

Pruning time!
It’s a perfect time for pruning most (but not all) trees. This time of year we are busy with Crown Reductions, Pollarding and pruning, while most trees are dormant and recover better when the new spring growth begins, the Daffodils and snowdrops are coming up and days staying lighter, it’s a lovely time of Winter
The Sun is shining on Brighton
Beautiful sunny winters day, lots of snowdrops and crocus coming through, looking forward to spring
