Keep an eye out for fungus
Here’s a small bracket fungus we found on a very sickly looking lilac tree. The leaves and flowers were very small and wilting and it’s almost certain this is as a result of the fungus.
Back on the bike yesterday
Where possible we are reducing our carbon foot print, yesterday was pruning a small local Eucalyptus a d chipping on site, all possible on to the Bakfiet cargo bike and trailer
London plane
Platanus x Hispanics often seen planted as a street tree being very tolerant to pollution, these large camouflage barked trees have majestic sweeping limbs and big shade giving leaves.
What’s going on?
It’s hard to photograph trees sometimes and here’s one of my worst pictures, the bushy tree on the right is an Elm and on the right mainly in silhouette is the Sycamore we reduced.
Cornus florida
This flowering Dogwood (cornus) looks amazing this spring with its white poppy-like flowers.
Upturned
I love how the grass and flowers have clung on to this upturned root plate.
Bluebells
Great to return to the woods we are working in again today and in the weeks in between they’ve been carpeted with Bluebells
